BMW has given its mid-size X3 a facelift – but more frugal engines mark the biggest changes.
The X3 debuts in Geneva next month and goes on sale here in June. Prices will start at €46,680 on-the-road for the X3 sDrive 18d.
This rear-wheel-drive X3 sDrive18d has a 1,995cc TwinPower turbodiesel 4cyl engine (148bhp, 56.5mpg, 131g/km with 6spd manual).
All the other diesels have all-wheel drive as standard. They include the global unveiling of a new 2-litre engine variant in the X3 xDrive20d (187bhp, 143g/km), the xDrive30d (6cyl, 2,993cc, 254bhp, 156g/km), xDrive35d (309bhp, 157g/km).
The looks get a minor facelift with a new headlight design, kidney grille surround and bumpers. Small interior tweaks include additional chrome details and revised centre console.
There are more driver assistance and infotainment elements such as an improved sat nav system. And touchpad on the iDrive controller lets you scribble things with your finger, such as a destination or address, that the system understands.
