Ford gets into gear with warranty plan
Ford has declared war on Kia's high mileage and Hyundai's long-life warranties with a service-activated warranty scheme, which can last as long as the vehicle does.
To answer Kia's seven-year warranty and Hyundai's triple-package warranty which includes a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty, Ford is fighting back with a promise that each year you have your Ford car serviced to manufacturer's specifications by your local Ford dealer, you get an extra year's bumper-to-bumper warranty.
"This is a lifetime warranty," says Ford chairman and managing director Eddie Murphy. "This is a 'cradle to the grave' warranty for your car."
Also coming down the line is a four-year warranty with a road-assist and servicing package on all Mondeos which Ford says will save you €700 over the period.
Ford is fighting to stay at the top of the car sales chart alongside VW and Toyota.
