RTE presenter Claire Byrne looked every inch the yummy mummy at her first major public appearance since the birth of her baby boy.
Claire and her fiance Gerry Scollan, welcomed their son Patrick into the world in October.
And 38-year-old Claire said they can't imagine life without him.
“It's like we have always had him,” she told the Herald.
“He's great – we've been blessed with a very mellow baby.
“He's very chilled out – it's an event when he cries, he's a great boy.”
Claire was at Lancome's Christmas Celebration last night, on a rare evening out before maternity leave finishes – she will return to Primetime next month.
“I'm back to work in January, it is quick but it's my decision,” she explained.
“I'm self-employed and decided to go back in then. I feel that I'm ready and my hours are quite flexible anyway.”
“Gerry is there in the evenings when I'm doing Primetime, so it should work. I think it'll be ok – touch wood.”
But before then, Claire is looking forward to a Christmas filled with tiny tots.
“My two younger sisters are expecting, so it will be baby central in the Byrne house this Christmas,” she said. “I'm really looking forward to that.”
And baby Patrick will be decked out in his festive finest.
“He has his Christmas hat and Christmas bib and is all kitted out for Christmas Day,” she said.
“So he's going to look ridiculous but it'll be a great day.”
While Patrick is a bundle of joy, Claire admits nothing could prepare her for the first few weeks of motherhood.
“The first six weeks are really difficult and nothing can prepare you – it's like a juggernaut – no matter how many books you read nothing can prepare you for it. We're through that now and he's sleeping really well.”
It's been a busy year for Claire who revealed she was planning to take a trip down the aisle, when she appeared on air with a shiny engagement ring.
Claire was in great form at the Lancome bash on Ormond Quay.
She wasn't the only star in attendance – TV presenters including Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh, Brendan Courtney, Karen Koster and Elaine Crowley were also there.
Girls about town Marissa Carter, Emily O’Donnell and Avila Lipsett as well as models Karen Fitzpatrick and Corina Grant were present too. And radio presenters Sean Munsanje and Ruth Scott also caught up at the festive event.
