YOU heard it here first. Louis Walsh is going after the Sun again. Sorry, I mean the sun. Louis is heading to Miami for the New Year for some well-deserved rest and recuperation. Prior to that, the X Factor judge will spend Christmas with his family in Mayo, and then head to Dublin. I'm sure the pressies will be extra extravagant for his nieces and nephews this year with the €500,000 he has received from the bold Rupert Murdoch.
Another Irish music business legend, Dave Kavanagh, might be jetting to Los Angeles for the festive season with his lovely wife Rhona Kelly.
Dave, who had health problems, told me he got the all-clear last week when I met him in Tower Records. Thank God for that. His pal Gavin Friday informed me that he was so busy writing and recording a score for a documentary, that he's thinking of "heading to the moon this Christmas".
Internationally famous Irish chef Richard Corrigan is only going as far as Colorado for Crimbo, with his wife Maria and the kids. Meath-raised Richard, who has three restaurants in London and a Michelin star to his name, says he loves Denver at Yule because of its "great vibe and ultra coolness".
Top Irish model Roz Purcell – who lost in the final of Celebrity Bainisteoir on RTE in October by two points to Calum Best – is flying to Lanzarote on December 21 for a week. She is going with her parents and sisters Rebecca and Rachel.
Roz hasn't seen Rachel for two years since she emigrated to Toronto. "I'm very excited to see her," she told me.
Perhaps not as excited as Roz's GAA team were in Celebrity Bainisteoir when she kept a promise to train them in her barely there but bling bikini.
