Lynda Barber
Moving To: COLT Telecom
Position: Sales operations administrator
Responsibilities: Barber will provide a wide range of administrative support to the sales team, as well as being a single point of contact between sales and delivery teams in the company’s pan-European business.
Previous Experience: She has eight years’ experience in the telecommunications sector in Ireland and abroad. Prior to joining the company, she spent seven years with BT Ireland in a variety of engineering roles.
Fiona Burns
Moving To: Morrison Hotel
Position: Director of sales and marketing
Previous Experience: Burns was employed by Starwood Hotels and Resorts UK as global account director for its sales office, and managed many of its key accounts. Prior to this, she spent four years as part of the opening team at the Westin Dublin and was also employed by the Shelbourne Hotel Dublin in its sales and marketing department.
Emma Caulfield
Moving to: Those Two Girls PR
Position: Public relations (PR) account manager
Responsibilities: Caulfield will lead the day-to-day management and optimisation of client campaigns, specialising in hospitality, lifestyle and consumer PR.
Previous experience: She began her career in media a decade ago and voiced the AA Roadwatch alerts for RTÉ radio. She progressed to the role of drive-time news anchor on Dublin’s Q102 for almost two years before dedicating her time to PR.
Allan Sweeney
Moving to: FGS
Position: Manager, corporate restructuring and insolvency
Responsibilities: Sweeney will manage a large portfolio of formal and informal insolvency cases, including court liquidations, voluntary liquidations, receiverships and examinerships — as well as undertaking ad hoc reviews.
Previous experience: He brings a wealth of insolvency and corporate recovery experience to the role, having worked in the field for 12 years. Sweeney joins FGS from insolvency practitioners, Ferris & Associates.
Carol Grennan
Promoted at: UPC Ireland
Position: Chief financial officer
Responsibilities: Grennan is responsible for the group’s financial operations, including financial accounting and revenue assurance.
Previous Experience: She has worked for the company for six years and was previously financial controller for NTL. Prior to this, she worked in senior financial management roles with IT Alliance, Informix and Dublin Cargo Handling.
Qualifications: Grennan is a graduate of the College of Commerce, Rathmines, Dublin.
Henry Shannon
Moving to: Fitzwilliam Card Club
Position: Financial controller
Responsibilities: Shannon will be responsible for all financial aspects of the club.
Previous Experience: He brings a wealth of financial expertise to the role, having worked as a chartered accountant for some years. Previously, he was financial controller at Roscrea Fresh Foods and group internal auditor at Glanbia.
Qualifications: A fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, Shannon has a BComm from University College Dublin.
Jason Flynn
Promoted at: Avaya Ireland
Position: Country manager, Ireland
Responsibilities: Flynn will have overall responsibility for driving the company’s business communications solutions forward.
Previous Experience: He has extensive experience in the business communications sector and was previously sales manager at the company. Prior to this, he held management positions at GE Finance and Ericsson.
Ciaran Buckley
Moving to: Farrelly & Mitchell
Position: Head of communications and marketing
Responsibilities: Buckley is responsible for media relations, marketing and investor relations.
Previous Experience: He has worked as a client director with Fleishman-Hillard for the past two years. Prior to this, he was a journalist with the Sunday Business Post, RTÉ and the Irish Farmers Journal. He also held key positions with Microsoft from 1999 to 2001, including head of internet and technical communications.
