IT'S official -- Irish women are the pickiest in Europe when it comes to love.
The results of a new survey possibly won't come as much of a surprise to single Irish men, finding that while Irish people generally are the fourth pickiest in Europe, in the "women only" section our women top the list.
The top 10 qualities looked for in a potential partner -- ranging from honesty to ability in the bedroom and from intelligence to optimism -- were listed in the survey. Every quality listed is important for over 80pc of Irish women.
In contrast, only two of the qualities -- honesty and communication -- are important for over 80pc of Irish men.
The overall results of the pan-European survey also provide some evidence that women do set higher standards than men when it comes to relationships.
Just one-in-five women now expects their partner to earn more money than they do, with 83pc preferring equality over financial dependency. The survey, by online dating company Parship, involved 13,000 people across 13 countries.
