A troupe of fashionistas turned up for a trend-setting show at Dundrum Town Centre last night.

Harvey Nichols -- the luxury store that groomed the pelt of the Celtic Tiger -- put on an eyecatching fashion show with a difference. The difference was there were plenty of affordable items to appeal to the budget-conscious attitude of autumn/winter 2009.

The show started with See by Chloe, which combined a silk print blouse with a matching skirt for a lighter approach to autumnal dressing.

Pampered punk followed with a rebellious, rock-chic vibe that verged between Courtney Love and Paris Hilton. Stylist Paula Hughes showed how to rock faux-fur jackets from Juicy Couture. There were also more sophisticated hints of the 1940s. The Hitchcock heroine still stalks the rails in hourglass pencil skirts and moulded blouses.

Red is the colour of the season, reflecting the state of many a fashionista's bank balance. DKNY perfected this trend with a cherry-coloured dress at €310. The final inspirational outfit wowed guests with a red floor-length Lurex dress for €760 by designer to the stars -- Issa.

And with hair and make-up by Brown Sugar making big and bold statements, the final looks included a swathe of organza pieces from Dolce & Gabbana. Tara closed the show in a stunning floor-length dress for €1,090 by the designer.
