This week Miss Thrifty was ill, struck down by a mystery malady that meant I completely missed the fashion extravaganza that was Jimmy Choo at H&M.
I hatched a simple plan - queue all night, sharpen my elbows, buy everything and bore everyone with how Miss Thrifty had got there first.
My condition was further worsened by a raging case of shoe envy from watching Sex and The City The Movie. I found myself watching the film and doing the maths. I was horrified to discover that Carrie Bradshaw changes her outfit 80 times. When you add life's little necessities, like limousines and constantly gorging her smug face in New York's finest restaurants, a year in her life will set you back €600k.
I woke up the next day feeling more like myself and less like Eddie Hobbes, but still in need of a designer shoe fix. So, I headed online and here’s what I found:
Best for getting over not bagging Jimmys at H&M :
Jimmy Choo The only real way to get over not getting H&M Jimmy Choo is to get real Jimmy Choo. I nearly passed out when I came across these patent boots on sale for €375 (reduced from €750). Ok so they are a little pricier then the H&M line but at this price you'll have to move fast.
Best for the wow factor :
Giuseppe Zanotti If you’re the sort who likes to turn heads with your feet you won't go far wrong with Giuseppe Zanotti's fluro patent sandals . Sky high at 4.5 inches, you may find yourself in the limelight longer then expected. They've been reduced from €436.78 to €174.71.
Best for the Christmas party - Christian Louboutin :
Perfect for all the trimmings occasions or a more demure celebration Miss Audrey Satin slingbacks by Christian Louboutin come in at €377.75. It might mean you have to forego eating for the new year but as they are reduced from €629.58 its an 'investment'.
Best for about the town - Giuseppe Zanotti :
If you're after something edgier, try the cutout show boots from Giuseppe Zanotti . The fact that they're black means you might get away with them for work whilst still having something funky enough for a night on the tiles. €329.45 reduced from €549.08. Best office statement :
Georgina Goodman Helene satin shoes by Georgina Goodman. Ok, they might be a little high after a day on your busy feet but at €163.20 from €547.20 the pain is worth the gain, sweetie. Available from mywardrobe.com
