Carrying on from where we left off last summer, this season sees our love of all things 70's continue.

To borrow the parlance of the day, everyone from Gucci to DVF 'kept on truckin' with wide legged trousers, sky high platforms and gallons upon gallons of dip dye.

Thankfully the trend that was a trickle has flooded onto the high street and last seasons super brights have been replaced with more muted earthy tones.

There's full on flares, plenty of browns and creams, as you would expect, no 70's wardrobe could be complete without a silk shirt or two.

If you love the look there's no need for me to tell you anything, if you are still finding your feet, the trick as always is to mix, match and borrow.

From floppy hats to flares, many of the pieces will work well with your wardrobe as stand alone items.

Platform heels, retro moccasins and glamorous jumpsuits are an easy place to start and as long as the accessories are kept pared down to a minimum, you can avoid looking like an extra in an Abba video.

Pennys have an impressive selection of 70's inspired accessories with everything from the floppy hat to the saddle bag available for under €15, and when it comes to flattering flares Zara have it covered.

Great for the waistline and adding an inch or three to the legs, team with sky high wedges and a silk shirt for a slick daytime look.

What we found ...

Dream catcher necklace €18 at River Island Floppy hat €9 at Penneys Mustard shirt €39.95 at Zara Saddle bag €15 at Penneys Flared cords €240 at BT2 Printed shirt €21.99 at New Look
