Botox injections can smooth and plump the skin but the procedure is not without its complications.
Actress Lesley Ash was left with bloated lips when she had injections in 2003.
Manhattan-socialite Jocelyne Wildenstein was dubbed "the Bride of Wildenstein" after 30 years of Botox and surgery, while musician Pete Burns took legal action against his plastic surgeon after spending £100,000 (€110,000) on four nose jobs, cheek implants and Botox.
Last year, a plastic surgeon in Canada told a conference that Nicole Kidman was so "over-Botoxed" she was giving the industry a bad name, although the actress has denied having injections.
Gossip columnists have speculated that stars such as Celine Dion, Madonna, Cher and Sylvester Stallone have all been injected with Botox. Sir Cliff Richard admits trying it, but said he gave up after his eyebrows "seemed to drop". (©Daily Telegraph, London)
