Before you advise the young woman that she has her skirt caught in her knickers, hold your tongue.

Asymmetric hemlines are a key fashion trend for spring/summer 2012 and once the cold snap lifts, hemlines will be running in a razor sharp 45 degree angle from thigh to mid-calf.

All the better if your have great legs and have avoided those 'danish pastry' swirly kneecaps that afflict so many women.

And for the Betty Grables of this world who want to show off both of their shapely limbs, the summery hemline trend extends to chiffon-light skirts worn short at the front and longer at the back.

Many of the best style trends to emerge this year are in A/wear's colourful new spring/summer collection unveiled in Dublin yesterday.

Tempting corals and jade infused turquoise separates flagged brighter wardrobe options to come, once we've shivered through this week's cold snap.

Vibrancy bounced from a bewildering array of skinny jeans, pants and tops in a glorious wheel of spicy Caribbean colours.

A/wear's collection is a deft edit of trends by the Irish chain which was sold last November by Alchemy, a private equity company to Hilco, who specialise in distressed restructuring.

They have maintained their 39 shops here and three in Britain with busy website trade, especially from ex-pat communities in Australia and the US.

The Irish chain also wholesale their clothes to major internet fashion sites like Asos, Littlewoods and Nelly.com.
