Can you really measure a man by his unmentionables? We go undie-cover among Ireland's most stylish men to find out what their smalls say about them.
Michael Doyle, Peter Mark Creative Director:
"I always spend a bit of money on my underwear; you can buy lots of cheaper pairs, but if you want them to last then you have to invest in quality brands.
"There's nothing worse than old, grey, baggy pants. I prefer boxer-briefs to saggy satin boxers -- yuck!
"My favourite brands are aussieBum, Diesel and Ginch Gonch, but the most expensive pair I have ever bought was by Dior Homme -- they're my selfish pants! Even dead, I would never be caught wearing novelty pants."
Greg Ryan, Mr Ireland Pageant Organiser:
"I have to say that I buy all my own boxers at this stage! Growing up, my mam always bought them for me -- but that's mainly because I was lazy.
"Working on the Mr Ireland event you see all types of trends. Some guys here are even starting to wear G-strings. I think we're getting more confident in ourselves, which is a good thing."

"Whether loud and flashy or dull and sensible, a man's underwear says a lot about him. Like fashion in general, underwear is something you experiment with until you find what suits.
"Over the years, I've tried every design, shape and colour until I found my ideal undies: tighty whitey Calvin Kleins. Now I have about two dozen pairs, all the very same! For me, it's less about fashion and more about function; boxer shorts might be cooler but they bunch up under jeans.
"But whatever your choice, keep it to yourself -- displaying your waistband à la Marky Mark is a definite fashion faux pas."
Derrick Carberry, make-up artist:
"I always buy my underwear online -- usually from designer brands like aussieBum or Papi. My underwear of choice would be low-cut briefs or boxers, but aussieBum's Wonderjock (the men's equivalent of a Wonderbra fitted with support cup) is cool too.
"I like my underwear tight -- it keeps everything in check!"
