Small wedding for Katy and Russell

Katy Perry has announced she and fiance Russell Brand would like a small wedding but a "big, fat reception".

The I Kissed A Girl singer told People.com that her forthcoming marriage to the shock-haired comedian would be celebrated at an intimate ceremony.

She said: "I think [the wedding] will be small. I always have a ton of people around me and I think the people that are going to share this moment with us are the people we want to integrate into each other's lives."

But friends of the couple shouldn't worry about being left out of the festivities. Katy said the couple are also planning "a big, fat reception for the people who can't make it".

Katy and Russell got engaged in January after a three-month whirlwind romance.
