Scent of a lemon for band's new feminine fragrance

WOULD you like to smell like a boy band? Well, now you can, but don't complain if people mistake you for a lemon.
The tart scent of the citrus fruit is a key ingredient of the new fragrance launched by pop stars Westlife to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
With a plethora of celebrity perfumes already crowding the market, we were curious about what moniker they would choose for their personalised eau de parfum. Don't marketing people spend hours on details like that?
The perfume has been christened simply 'Westlife X' -- the X is not meant to signify a kiss but symbolises the 10 years the singers have performed together.
Nicky Byrne described the scent as a mix of floral and fruit, particularly lemon, and it's not one the boys will be wearing themselves as it's distinctly feminine.
"Our fan base is predominantly female," explained Nicky, though he didn't add that they are also largely under the age of 10.
Mark Feehily stressed that it was "not just something we signed up to" and they all had a hand in the packaging and customising of the product.
The scent also has the approval of the bands WAGs, "and our mums," said Shane.
Meanwhile, the popular foursome will make a return to the stage tonight when they perform at this year's Cheerios Childline Concert at the O2.
