IT is the tale of two models, the tycoon and a mysterious spur-of-the-moment trip to Marrakesh.

And former Miss World Rosanna Davison did nothing to quell the rumour mill after she failed to turn up at fellow model Glenda Gilson's 29th birthday party on Saturday night, despite being invited.

Her no-show at the glitzy weekend bash set tongues wagging that her absence may have had something to do with a much-publicised trip to Morocco with Glenda's ex-boyfriend, multi-millionaire developer Johnny Ronan (55).

Rosanna caused a furore when she made a spur-of-the-moment getaway with the property mogul to a luxury hotel in Africa last Sunday week.

Her foreign sojourn caused even more of a sensation as it happened the day after Mr Ronan had a public row with Glenda.

Break

The fracas, which has since been nicknamed the 'Rumble in Ranelagh', happened in McSorley's pub following the Ireland versus England rugby match.

The next day, Mr Ronan invited Rosanna to take a foreign break along with a female friend after they met in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

The Treasury Holdings boss and the two women took a private jet to Marrakesh and checked into the €500-a-night La Mamounia Hotel, where they had dinner and drank mint tea by the pool.

Although she was seen at numerous social events during the week, there was no sign of jet-setting Rosanna at Glenda's party on Saturday.

The previous night, the glamorous model attended a party at Buck's Townhouse Club on Leeson Street, along with RTE presenter Miriam O'Callaghan's daughter, Alannah McGurk, and Ozzy Osbourne's daughter-in-law Louise.

Guests at Glenda Gilson's birthday party the following night said Rosanna's name was listed among those who got an emailed invitation.

But Rosanna's absence did not knock the smile off model and 'Xpose' presenter Glenda's face as she partied the night away at her pal Michael Wright's pub, the Angler's Rest in Dublin.

She kickstarted the celebrations earlier in the week with a late night in Lillie's Bordello on Thursday, where her entourage included motor racing boss Mark Kershaw.

Rosanna has insisted her brief African adventure was innocent and Mr Ronan had also invited her long-term boyfriend Wesley Quirke.

She said her boyfriend was asleep when she tried to contact him in the early hours of the morning so they had arrived in Morocco by the time he got her messages.
