P Middy romps home as winner of wedding

In the past few weeks, it has become increasingly clear that Pippa Middleton was the big winner of the royal wedding.
Kate may have got her prince, but it was her younger sister who walked away with the prize, as long as you define "winning" and "prize" as losing any semblance of personal privacy, having your entire adult life to date pored over in search of the tiniest indiscretion and an unsolicited agreement that you will never be able to do anything ever again without it appearing in the following day's papers.
But, in these celebrity-obsessed times, who wouldn't want that? P Middy, as she has now been christened, has had no choice.
You could even say that in this era of people being famous for no reason, P Middy may be the epitome of the modern celebrity -- the sister of someone who is known for marrying someone high-profile, she's now a star because she went to the gym for a bit and got a suntan before appearing on TV in front of billions of people.
Still, there's no point blaming the system and it's a system that is bowing at her nearly royal feet, if she wishes to take advantage of it, and why shouldn't she?
She could start by accepting the $5m on offer from an "adult entertainment" company to star in one scene of a "gentleman's film". If it worked for Paris Hilton ...
But that kind of cash is probably knocking around the piggy banks of the kind of hedge-fund honchos she seems to pal about with, which is a great shame.
The Royal Romp had a pretty good ring to it.
