Los Angeles City Council is negotiations with promoters AEG about getting back some of the money spent on holding the Michael Jackson memorial service in the city.
The council is hoping to claw back some of the three million dollars local taxpayers had to fork out to host the event, held in July.
A Los Angeles official said she's negotiating with AEG, which owns the Staples Centre - where the memorial took place.
A City Council panel postponed the cost review for a week after councillor Jan Perry said she had positive discussions with AEG about the memorial.
An AEG spokesman said he had no comment.
A recent city report concluded the memorial boosted the local economy and determined there was no law in place at the time to force reimbursement.
