Jordan's comfort for grieving star
Saturday Nov 24 2007
NEIL Jordan gave Jonathan Rhys Meyers his first big break in the movie 'Michael Collins'.
And yesterday, the film director turned up to offer the 30-year-old actor a comforting shoulder at the funeral of his mother, Geri Meyers.
The actor's eyes brimmed with tears as friends, neighbours and fellow actors like Colin Farrell and Maria Doyle-Kennedy joined in a round of applause for the mother-of-five at the end of the Requiem Mass, at St Joseph's Church in Glanmire, Co Cork. Mrs Meyers was laid to rest at St Catherine's Cemetery, Kilcully.
