Jim Carrey's relationship secrets

Monday February 08 2010

Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy claim their straight talking is what has kept them together for four years.

The couple - who hosted a Saturday Night Spectacular poker event to raise money for their autism organisation Generation Rescue at the weekend - were asked by People to reveal the secrets to a successful relationship.

Jenny said: "Say what you mean - no one has the energy for mind games."

Jim agreed: "Jenny is the first person that I've been with where I don't have a giant question mark over my head."

Jenny, 37, also listed: "Communication. Being turned on by each other. Being each other's soul mate."

While Carrey, 48, joked: "When you're not turned on, there's generally something to talk about. So, it's good to listen to that."

And asked what their plans for Valentine's Day were, The Grinch star told his girlfriend: "Every day is Valentine's Day, baby."

Jim and Jenny - whose son, Evan, was diagnosed with autism in 2004 - also spoke passionately about their autism charity. Jim said: "This is so important. Everyone knows someone who has been touched by autism. It's important to know that there is hope."

The actor has bonded with Jenny's son since the couple started dating.

Jenny said: "I think a man who is good with children is sexy. And Jim definitely is. He loves Evan so much."
