THERE was no respite for beleaguered football star Ryan Giggs with new sensational claims made by his sister-in-law with whom the Manchester United player allegedly had an eight-year affair.

Yesterday Natasha Giggs alleged that she underwent an abortion of his child only weeks before she walked down the aisle with his brother Rhodri.

Natasha also claimed that she was given £500 (e565) by the footballer toward the cost of the abortion.

Giggs (37) is reputedly worth £34m (e38.5m), thanks to lucrative sponsorship contracts.

His sister-in-law alleged that the Man United star, on hearing the news that she was expecting a baby, said: "You know there's only one option -- a termination. We can't ruin everybody's life.

"I was due to fly out to Las Vegas to marry Rhodri within weeks and I knew I couldn't possibly marry him while I was pregnant with his brother's baby."

The 28-year-old was quoted in an interview that she gave to the 'News of the World': "Going through with the termination was horrendous. Even though I was with Rhodri and loved him, I had feelings for Ryan."

According to the report Natasha became pregnant after she slept with Giggs.

The encounter took place at the home of one of her friends. Giggs had been enjoying a night on the town after scoring two penalties in a match against Tottenham Hotspur last April.

The report claimed that the couple had had a relationship dating back to 2003.

This was also the year that the footballer wed Stacey Cooke (32).

They would meet in various locations when Giggs's footballing engagements allowed.

The couple were almost caught by their spouses, and family and friends became suspicious about the nature of their relationship.

According to reports in the UK, Natasha, who has two children, underwent the termination at a clinic in Stockport on June 3.

Two weeks later, she married Rhodri in Las Vegas.

One of the guests was actor Will Mellor -- also revealed to have had a one-night stand with the bride 11 years ago.

The newly married couple then threw a belated reception in September for family and friends in Manchester. Giggs was not invited because of an ongoing feud with Rhodri, the report claimed.

Instead, the footballer went clubbing in London.

It has been reported that this was the night he met 'Big Brother' star Imogen Thomas and began a relationship, which eventually became public knowledge.

Ms Thomas was later slapped with a super-injunction by Giggs as he tried to hush up their affair

However, Giggs was named as the footballer who had taken out the super-injunction to silence the Welsh glamour model last month.
