Hollywood thrills with the stars of Dallas

Celebrity balls are bandied about like confetti at a wedding, but when William Doyle of Newbridge sets his mind to organising a serious evening with the stars, he pulls out all the stops.
Next Thursday night, he's hosting a black-tie ball at his Newbridge Silverware Visitor Centre, with guests of honour Linda Gray and Charlene Tilton -- aka Sue Ellen and Lucy from Dallas.
I can imagine half of Kildare turning out to welcome these women, who kept us glued to our TVs during the 1980s. The ball, which is sold out, will benefit The Irish Sri Lankan Orphanage Fund. Doyle has already added a total "wow" factor to the fab showrooms. The wonderful museum of iconic fashion there features original gowns and memorabilia from some of the biggest stars ever.
The collection includes original dresses worn by Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn and a host of others. Expect a major bling affair next week, especially since Newbridge has an amazing range of jewellery for the holidays.
