Cat Deeley goes distance for show
Wednesday November 11 2009
Cat Deeley has admitted she's struggling to get to grips with extreme jetlag as she flies between the US and the UK to record different versions of So You Think You Can Dance?.
Speaking in Hollywood, Cat admitted that filming the new BBC show alongside the old American version is taking its toll.
"Just don't ask me what time it is or day or when I should eat," she laughed. "I'm just trying to listen to my body a bit, moisturising like a lunatic and drinking water."
But Cat says she's more than willing to lose a little sleep to be back on British TV again in January.
"I'm pretty delighted - it's really exciting," she said. "To be back on the BBC on a Saturday night is just phenomenal. I kind of wish that this (US) one wasn't happening at the same time so I didn't have to do the transatlantic flights once a week, but it's very exciting."
Fans of Strictly Come Dancing will be "totally" addicted, according to the presenter.
She said: "What we try and do is have dancing as the narrative that runs through the show, but the real thing that I think people connect with is the human element - stories and successes, failures and trials and tribulations all those kinds of things.
"Hopefully that'll be what British audiences connect with."
Accompanying Cat back to British TV in the New Year will be former Popstars judge Nigel Lythgoe.
Cat laughed: "I think they (British fans) are more than ready for us to unleash the Lythgoe."
