Kimberly Stewart is expecting a baby with Oscar-winning actor Benicio del Toro, his publicist has said.
Robin Baum said that "although they are not a couple", the 44-year-old actor and 31-year-old reality TV star Kimberly - daughter of rocker Rod Stewart - were looking forward to the baby's arrival.
"Benicio is the father and is very supportive," Baum said.
The news means veteran singer Rod will be preparing for duties as a grandparent just months after he became a father again at the age of 66.
Penny Lancaster gave birth to the rocker's eighth child, a boy named Aiden, in February after undergoing IVF.
In the past Rod has shown his protective side with his daughter when he publicly berated comedian Russell Brand at an awards ceremony. Brand had suggested that he had been Kimberly's lover.
Kimberly was previously engaged to Laguna Beach teenager Talan Torriero and has been linked to Jude Law and Rhys Ifans.
Del Toro won an Academy Award for his supporting role in 2000's Traffic. His other credits include The Wolfman, Sin City and 21 Grams.
Asked why he had not settled down, he was recently quoted as saying: "Everyone says 'Why isn't he married?'... Why do I have to get married? Just so I can get divorced?"
Kimberly starred in the 2007 reality show Living With... Kimberly Stewart.
