One of the oldest of the Cork BHAA promotions, the HSE four-mile event takes place on Sunday morning on the Marina circuit, writes John Walshe.
This will be the 31st HSE-themed race. Starting time is 11am and further details can be had from Michael Murphy at 087 7977121.
Around 300 ran last year, with Brian Murphy from Kerry an easy winner in 20.52. Helen Leonard took the female honours in 25.34.
STOOK EVENT TO INCLUDE FAST AND FURIOUS DOWNHILL TEST
Anyone looking for a 10-mile before the end of the year should pencil in the Stook race in Kilkenny, which takes place for the second time on Sunday, November 17.
This year, the organisers have introduced the Stook Flying Mile, described as 'Ireland's fastest timed downhill mile', where you will get an official one-mile split.
There will be chip timing and a unique cowbell for every finisher.
