Gneeveguilla Athletic Club, on the Cork/Kerry border, will stage the annual Jack O'Keeffe Festival of Road Races on Easter Monday in Kiskeam village.

The main highlight will again be the four-mile race from Boherbue to Kiskeam at 2pm.

Last year, no doubt helped by a strong wind, two course records were set by Mark Hanrahan who recorded 18.38 and Laura Crowe who finished in 21.41.

It looks almost certain that Ray D'Arcy of Today FM is on target to realise his dream of raising €500,000 for the Laura Lynn Foundation.

Close to 2,000 runners are expected to line up for tomorrow's Ray D'Arcy Half-Million Half-Marathon in Phoenix Park; an event organised by Athletics Ireland where entrants will have paid €250 each to enter. It should be a big day in the park on Good Friday.
