* Order/buy your seeds, spuds and onions. Chit seed potatoes – put them in a container (eg used egg carton or seed tray) and leave them in a bright, warm place.
* If you didn't do so earlier, spread manure or compost over beds and cover selected areas with cardboard, black plastic or carpet to start warming up the soil.
* Soil in raised beds will warm two weeks before open ground which makes it easier to grow later in the spring. For uncovered beds, or open ground, turn over soil if the weather is good.
