"I was always a terrible worrier as a child. I thought I'd grow out of it, but worrying tends to just become part of who you are, and you're better off embracing it and then learning how to control it.
"I was prescribed Xanax in the past for anxiety and I suffer from bouts of insomnia, which can be hellish after a few days.
"I know what my triggers are now, and I'm getting better at keeping stress at bay.
"If I can walk for an hour a day, I know my brain shuts down better at night.
"I can err on the side of solitude a bit too much, and as I live alone most of the time, when I do meet up with a friend for a chat, I'm always reminded that I should do it more often.
"I probably used to de-stress with booze, and whilst I still will unwind with a drink, I try not to make it half a bottle!
"Having said that, pizza and wine with a best mate is one of the best de-stressors there is.
"I've just made a programme about anxiety, and a mindfulness expert called Anne Buckley told me we all have a pharmacy in our heads, which I thought was a great concept.
"Now all I have to do is learn how to activate the 24-hour dispensary
"Ironically, I'm not bad in a crisis. It's the little things that creep in at 4am that stress me out more. I keep Rescue Remedy night drops by my bed, and a notepad so I can write things down and hope they back off.
"There are some up sides to being a worrier; I probably eat twice what most of my friends eat and don't put on much weight. Every cloud!"
