CONOR Cusack is savouring the twilight of a GAA career after depression almost stole it from him. The 34-year-old has hurled since the age of five with Cloyne in Co Cork.
But at the height of his bouts of depression, his weight soared to almost 20 stone and he resisted even going outdoors.
Conor's brother, Donal Og, won multiple All Star and All-Ireland medals as Cork goalkeeper. As one of few openly gay sportsmen, he too has been outspoken about his personal life.
Conor, an engineer with a Ringaskiddy-based pharmaceutical firm, still hurls with Cloyne but his season was cut short by a broken hand.
