A free public meeting on winter bugs, antibiotics and how to protect the family from infection will be held next week at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.
The meeting, which will take place on Tuesday, January 14, at 6pm in the Royal College of Physicians in Kildare Street, Dublin, will feature a range of experts.
They include Prof Edmond Smyth, Consultant Microbiologist, Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, who will look at the history of antibiotics and how they have become resistant when treating bugs.
Vicki Young of Gloucester Royal Hospital in the UK will explain how bugs spread and how to break the chain of infection. Kathy Maher, a pharmacist, will show how to protect you and your family.
