Age, it changes us. Even as I approached my 30s, I noticed a big difference in how my body reacted to sessions and a heavy workload. But age makes people do strange things to try and avoid it, from creams to injections and surgery.

All quick-fix ways of trying to stall life's effects on the body. As we get older, the body naturally stores more fat and the metabolism slows down. We lose muscle tone and our bones weaken.

What if I was to tell you that exercise is one of the best ways of slowing down the ageing process and its effects?

It is the most natural way of dealing with ageing, but it takes hard work, effort, sweat and time. To get the best changes, you have to put hard work in.

Low GI Carb Brunch

This is a yummy brunch dish, loaded with protein and low GI carbohydrates. Great as a healthy recovery meal after a late night.

Serves 2

you will need

2 tbsp coconut oil

100g sweet potatoes, cut into thick slices

½ a red chilli, deseeded and finely chopped

100g cherry tomatoes

1 garlic clove, crushed

50g Greek yoghurt

Method

Heat coconut oil in a medium saute pan. Add potatoes and chilli, reduce heat to medium-low, stir for 20 minutes. Stir garlic and spinach into chilli and potatoes and cook for a minute or two. Crack eggs on top. Cook on medium heat for 5-7 minutes, or until egg whites set. Remove pan from heat and spoon over yoghurt, avoiding yolks. Place tomatoes on top.
