The second year of the 'FIT Magazine' City Series in Dublin's Phoenix Park has seen entries double thanks to the inclusion of a 5k option as well as the original 10k.
Registration is still open for the March 9 Phoenix Park run at www.fitmagazine.ie/events, but will close at midnight this Thursday.
Famous faces like Michele McGrath, Catherina McKiernan and personal training guru Siobhan Byrne will line out on the day, and with first prizes of €800 for the male and female 10k winners, the battle to be first to cross the finish line promises to be intense.
"The fitness boom of recent years hasn't dwindled, and more and more people are turning to running for body and mind. Events like our run bring together a community and the prize money just makes things that little bit more interesting," said 'FIT Magazine' editor Vicki Notaro.
The FIT team are returning to Cork later this summer, with a run along the city's marina on July 13. Options of 5k and 10k are available, and early birds can avail of cheaper rates on the magazine's website.
