The bold new collection for Specsavers opticians from Paris-based fashion designer Jørgen Simonsen has some amazing new designer glasses.

‘Colour Pop is an ode to life, love and freedom’, says Jørgen. ‘I have drawn inspiration from long, lazy afternoons on the Amalfi coast, classic brightly coloured cars, Italian ice cream, old-time movie icons and all things really cool. Layered acetates, gradients and accent colours create the most alluring effect, making its wearer stand out from the crowd’. The pink and purple range glasses for women are particularly popular.
My colour inspiration for these specs came from the magical wonders of Scandinavia, with its wide frost-covered moors, deep fjords, big skies and Northern Lights. So we have icy whites, permafrost blues, spring greens, burnt wood tones and ash grey glasses with an urban warrior vibe,’ says Jørgen. ‘We have used high-tech materials to produce a matt, frosted effect on our glasses so they are sleek, refined and minimalistic.’
‘Super Translucent glasses are the epitome of urban chic, offering a combination of bold shapes, daring design and polished, glossy surfaces,’ says Jørgen. ‘The designs accentuate the construction of the frames, leaving the core wire and hinge on display through the translucent material.’
The 2013 Osiris eyewear collection by Jørgen Simonsen is available at all 44 Specsavers stores across Ireland and is included in its current 2 for 1 offer.
