With Specsavers and the Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Awards 2012. Specsavers invites YOU to pen a short story inspired by this picture. You could win all the books entered in Specsavers Irish Children’s Book of the Year Awards 2012.
All you have to do is write a short story based on the themes suggested by this cartoon. Your story should be no more than 500 words – 250 words are enough if you are under 12 years old. Remember to give your story a title. It should be submitted (preferably typed) on a separate A4 sheet, which must be stapled to this form.
Groups of entries from schools are also very welcome. Good luck! The two winning entrants will receive all titles shortlisted for the Specsavers Irish Children’s Book of the Year Award 2012 and their school libraries will receive a donation of some of the best Irish books from the last year. Closing date for the competition is Friday 30 November.
