Specsavers stores throughout Ireland are upping the ante on promoting the fundamental links between good eyesight, visibility and road safety with the Drive Safe campaign.
Specsavers Chairman in Ireland Owen Blee explains “Our roads are busier than ever and poor vision presents a daily threat to the safety of thousands of road users. Yet research is constantly reminding us that we are failing to meet even the minimum standards of vision for safe driving”
This year, Specsavers specialist Drive Safe trailer will be visiting the Over-50’s Show at Dublin’s RDS in October.
The trailer offers a wealth of information about the inherent dangers of bad eyesight when driving and the benefits of regular eye examinations. It also offers free vision screening, specs MOTs and a chance to view the latest frames.
Owen Blee states “It’s not enough to have glasses or contact lenses – you also have to wear them. If your eyes get tired, stop. It’s always sensible to take regular breaks when driving long distances”
