Warm your heart amid cold of the winter games
Welcome to this week's edition of FIT. It is the eve of the most romantic day of the year (according to the greeting card companies anyway), so we tried to make the front cover as festive as possible featuring the lovely Anna Geary in her Rebel-red finest.
Anna is the face of the latest partnership between the GAA and the Irish Blood Transfusion Service, which is encouraging people to donate blood. I think it is fitting considering the heart is the icon of the week. Here she talks about her success in the game of camogie, her training and day job, and what she could get up to when she eventually retires from the sport.
We also look at the fitness facilities of some of the country's leading spa resorts. If you're looking to get away for a romantic weekend with your other half, your fitness and training doesn't have to suffer. There are some excellent fitness packages on offer that make for a guilt-free getaway, so take a look.
The Winter Olympics are under way in Sochi, not without controversy due to Russia's stance on gay people. The unfortunate politics aside, the athletes are focusing on their events. We met skier Conor Lyne before he departed to talk about his chances of a medal.
As an aside, thanks to all who wished me luck on my new biking adventures. The Victoria Pendleton bike and I are getting to know each other nicely, and I am already discovering I'm a big fan of the 'two birds one stone' theory: getting to work and getting a workout in at the same time!
