Prepare your weekly menu
For me, the key to success is preparation. Any time I don't prepare, that's when I'll want to just fling a pizza in the oven. Do a weekly shop.
At the end of the week, I'll sit down and make up a menu and the dinners I'm going to make this week.
Prepare your weekly shopping list
I'll do up my shopping list based on that and make big batches of soup and freeze them so I can just throw them in the microwave for lunch. My fridge is full with green stuff, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes . . .
I don't have two hours to make dinner. I don't use packets or jars of sauces any more so it's all about preparation. If I didn't sit down and do that list, there's no way I'd manage.
From a money perspective, I've done my shopping so I don't have money to buy any more food or spend €20 or €30 on a takeaway.
Make your workout fit your life
I wait until the children are in bed to work out at home and only go to the local gym twice a week.
Run on the spot during the ad breaks of your favourite television show.
Use your window sill to do triceps dips. Do push-ups and sit-ups or, if you have a piece of exercise equipment at home, like a rowing machine or exercise bike, put it in front of your television so you can use it while watching TV.
