Dehydration noun, the excessive loss of water from the body, usually accompanied by a deficiency of electrolytes. In severe cases, dehydration can lead to shock

Hydration pack noun, a reservoir of fluid held in a backpack or waistpack which is utilised hands-free, using a bite-valve and long tube

Hyperhydration noun, to take on extra fluids before activity to prevent dehydration. A good rule of thumb is to drink 500ml of water in the hour or two before exercise, and to take on 250-500ml per half-hour during it, depending on conditions and intensity of exercise

Water noun, the fluid most commonly used to hydrate. Sports drinks can also help, especially during more prolonged bouts of exercise, or in warmer conditions
