fIt Figures torball

3 Torball is an indoor ball sport played by the blind and the visually impaired. It is contested by two teams of three players.

7 On each end of the court there is a goal which stretches 7 metres in width.

1970s The decade in which torball was developed.

16x7 It is played on a rectangular court of 16 metres by 7 metres.

500 The ball used in torball allows for a speedy and dynamic game. It weighs just 500 grammes and is filled with bells so that competitors can hear it.

30 It is estimated that torball is played in about 30 countries worldwide.

50 This ever-growing sport celebrated its 50th anniversary in November last year at the European torball cup in Antwerp, Belgium.
