The above video is part one of a three part series designed to get you fit and confident in preparation for summer.
With the summer incoming, thoughts are drifting to long sandy beaches and days spent relaxing beneath the heavenly glare of the sun but a winter spent shielding from the Irish weather might have left you feeling a little unprepared for that holiday abroad.
Emma Forsyth, owner of Pilates Plus Dublin says it’s not too late to begin working on feeling that little bit more confident this summer when bearing it all on the beach.
“I think that if you commit to doing these exercises three or four times a week you will definitely feel it and it will make a difference to your shape and confidence,” she said.
The above is the first in a series of videos designed to tone and shape your body in preparation for the summer months.
“Today, we’re going to focus on your toning your tummy and strengthening your core. At the beginning it can feel tough but don’t be afraid to take breaks if you need to or if you feel your form slipping.
“It’s hard and you’ll definitely feel it but imagine how good you’ll feel when you’ve finished,” said Emma.
Pilates Plus Dublin has recently launched a new programme, Mash-up, which combines exercises on the studio’s exclusive proformer machines as well as floor work as demonstrated in the video above.
“Halfway through the class we swap over from the proformer to the mat, which means you get to use the machine but also get the added benefit of doing that important floor work.
“It’s a little bit more of a cardio work out. They’re really really popular and we’re adding more to our schedule,” said Emma.
