KITCHEN hero Donal Skehan has acquired a new fan in the controversial 'domestic goddess' Nigella Lawson.
The 27-year-old celebrity chef said he was delighted when he noticed a message from Nigella on his Twitter account at the weekend.
Nigella, who has recently been embroiled in a drug controversy, sent the young Dubliner a tweet complimenting him on his traditional Irish fry recipe.
After he sent a humble reply, Nigella then revealed that she had snapped up a copy of his latest book 'Home Cooked', and that she was "looking forward to it".
"I'm a huge fan of hers, and have all of her books, but it was the first time I've got a tweet from her," a delighted Skehan told the Irish Independent last night.
The celebrity chef, who is currently in Sweden where he celebrated Christmas with his girlfriend Sofie Larsson and her family, has enjoyed huge success recently.
His show 'Kitchen Hero' on RTE is hugely popular with viewers and he has recently released his fourth book -- the best-selling 'Home Cooked'.
"It's been an amazing year for my fourth book 'Home Cooked' -- it is officially my best-selling cookbook to date after a nationwide cooking tour," Skehan said.
Often credited as Ireland's answer to Jamie Oliver, Skehan said he was "thrilled that the queen of cooking now has a copy".
Skehan, who first came to attention from writing his 'Good Mood Food' blog, has become a household name over the last number of years and is a regular subject of comedian and impressionist Mario Rosenstock.
