CHIMANE Tiernan (24) considers herself lucky after winning a one-year contract to teach at St Paul's Secondary School in Smithfield, Dublin.
She earned an Education Degree from NUIM after six years' of study in which she also worked part-time at Penny's to put herself through college. And while she has no regrets about her chosen profession, she is furious about the cuts.
"I teach my students about equal pay for equal work. We're all doing the same job and we deserve to be paid at the same rate."
