Former travel agent Michael Stein has set up a website for students hoping to book foreign language courses abroad.
Stein, who sold his tour operator business recently, now directs students to language courses at schools in Europe and Latin America. The courses at steinstudyabroad.ie include Spanish, French, German and Italian, and range from one week refreshers to longer courses.
Michael Stein says, "We came up with the idea for the site when my daughter was trying to book a course abroad. The main interest is from transition year students, but we cater for different age groups.
"There is a growing recognition that students have to go to the country to learn the language properly.
"The oral parts of exams are becoming more important.
"You can only really learn the language by going to the country. What we are offering is like a Gaeltacht in the sun.''
