Eat, drink, and be merry to beat the Budget blues
I HAVE a plan. I've decided, let's worry about January in January.
In the meantime, it behoves us all to hit the bars and restaurants with the few pennies we have left over the yuletide to drive away the bah-humbug ghost of the recession.
Morah Ryan sets a fine example. After attending the Adi Roche charity lunch in the Westbury Hotel off Grafton Street last weekend, Gerry Ryan's widow – looking the epitome of glam in streamlined navy – went around the corner to 37 Bar on Dawson Street with a female pal at 5.30pm.
She had a drink at the bar before heading to the VIP Whiskey Bar at the back of the establishment where she had two cocktails and left at 7.30pm.
More power to her – Morah was doing her bit for the economy in Ireland and not the economy of Qatar, like Government Minister Phil Hogan.
That same Friday night Martin Sheen was in Town Bar & Grill on Kildare Street and singer Lionel Richie came in on Monday night after his show at the 02 Arena.
So, like I said: eat, drink and be merry – for tomorrow we diet.
