Dublin Wives leave the city far behind
Turns out Dublin Wives is something of a misnomer. Four of the five aren't wives for starters, and some of them seem to spend a lot of their time away from the capital. Take Virginia Macari (I'd love to etc.) She and fiance Kas Dahl and baby Thor are in London for the weekend before flying to Dubai followed by a week apiece in Miami and Los Angeles – where'll they meet up with Virginia's sister Sonya and her husband Colin Devlin.
Virginia's co-star, Roz Flanagan, is going skiing in Val d'Isere with friends on Friday. Then she is New York-bound to see her daughter Stephanie on Paddy's Day. "And then in the mid-term," she added, "I'm going to Dubai. I'm excited."
The excitable and exciting Daithi O Se is also heading to Manhattan, to host The Bachelor Of New York. He is hoping to bring his American wife Rita Talty on hols sometime after Easter. Anne Doyle and her other half Dan McGrattan are jetting to Jamaica for Easter. "Happy days!" the legendary former RTE newsreader and sex bomb told me.
Shane MacGowan is taking his other half Victoria Mary Clarke to Thailand next Thursday for a working holiday – a first-class, five-star working holiday that is.
A wealthy businessman is covering all the expenses for Shane and the rest of The Pogues to do one show in Thailand.
Gerald Kean is jetting to Portugal with daughter Kirsten at Easter. Finally, former Fair City star Tatiana Ouliankina has just got back from Marbella with her husband John Moore and their children. God be with the days when everyone was going to Marbs every other week.
