DON'T you just adore the names aristocrats pick for their babies? The fabulously monikered Honor Fitzgerald – youngest daughter of the late Desmond Fitzgerald, The Knight of Glin, (aka Knightie, obvs) gave birth last Tuesday to Otto in Queen Charlotte's Hospital in London. It is her first child with her partner of four years, Matthew 'Matty' Wilkinson.
The delighted mama posted on Facebook on Sunday: "Thank you all for lovely messages on the arrival of Mr Wilkinson, who is doing very well and is extremely sweet and we are so so happy and pleased xxxx."
The circle of Honor's posh best friends includes Jasmine Guinness (granddaughter of Desmond Guinness, of Leixlip Castle), Lady Henrietta Conyngham (daughter of Lord Henry Mount Charles), Cha Cha Seigne, Suki Stuart et al. So she will not be stuck for babysitters.
Honor moved to London in 2010 and lives in Chelsea with Matty, but they're bringing their tot home to Glin Castle for Christmas where they will all spend it with Honor's mother Olda, her two sisters, Catherine and Nesta, and their respective partners. A suitably swish beano is scheduled to take place on St Stephen's Day to welcome baba to the family.
Getting blotto for Otto. Don't you just love it?
