A petition has been filed to the White House to stop Ben Affleck's casting as Batman in the sequel to Man of Steel.
More than 51,000 people have signed an online petition stating their opposition to Ben Affleck being cast in the role of Batman.
The Change.org petition argues that Affleck "won't do justice" to the character of Batman, following Christian Bale's refusal of an offer to play the anti-hero for a fourth time.
Among the upset parties is three-year-old James Fitzpatrick, who posted the above video online after being pipped to the post by Affleck, despite "training for the past two years" for the demanding role.
Affleck is set to star alongside Henry Cavill, who plays Superman, in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel which will see the two characters face off.
Twitter users took to the social networking site to voice their displeasure at the news.
Meanwhile. the news that Brian Cranston has been cast as Lex Luther was met with a much more positive reaction on the social networking site.
