Despite warnings against crossing flood water, motorcyclist Michael Henao crossed one in Colorado and recorded what happened on his helmetcam.
The clip, posted by GoPro online, shows Henao attempting to cross a flash flood with a strong current.
As the water deepens, the biker is unable to keep the bike upright and he is thrown off it.
Moments later, as he tries to escape with his bike, the bike is wrenched from his hands and borne away by the floodwater.
Henao is then slammed into a tree by the current.
The video was captured during heavy flooding in September 2013 in Colorado. According to GoPro, Henao recovered his bike almost two weeks later and began "the rebuilding process".
