ACTRESS Amy Huberman, writer Marian Keyes and band Kodaline were among the winners in the first #RaboTweeties Awards last night at Dublin’s Odeon on Harcourt Street.
The inaugural #RaboTweeties were hosted by broadcaster Tom Dunne, Irish Independent journalist Vicki Notaro and comedian Abie Philbin Bowman.
Hundreds of nominations came in across all 13 categories for the first #RaboDirect Tweeties with stiff competition for the final shortlist, particularly in the #TweetieBusiness, #TweetieCharity and #TweetieSport categories.
"We were delighted to be the headline sponsor of Ireland’s first ever #RaboTweeties. The night was a huge success and a great celebration of Twitter and its impact in Ireland. We’re using Twitter and social media to put customers at the heart of our different approach to banking. Transparency and an on-going dialogue is central to this approach, and Twitter helps us to listen and engage with our fast growing follower base.” said Tim Bicknell, General Manager of RaboDirect Ireland.
Event organiser and editor of DigitalTimes.ie, Stephen Conmy added: “I would like to congratulate the winners, thank our sponsors and also thank all those on Twitter who made this event a reality, as without their votes and engagement this would not have happened. This is also the first time nationally that voting has taken place through Twitter and we are very proud of the outcome. We are already looking forward to next year!”
