A moving video offering cancer patients one ‘carefree moment’ to forget about their illness has gone viral.
The project "If Only for a Second" was developed by Belgian charity “The Mimi Foundation.”
Photographer Vincent Dixon was moved by a patient’s statement about life prior to her diagnosis: "You know what I miss the most? Being carefree."
The twenty patients were required to keep their eyes shut during the transformation.
Two photos were taken through a one-way mirror, the first when the make over was complete and the second as they opened their eyes and were confronted with their new look.
The striking portraits were then laid side by side in a special book entitled “Ne serait-ce qu'une seconde” (If only for a second).
