Jimmy Kimmel has revealed that he 'faked' a viral video in which a girl catches on fire trying to 'twerk'.
The video got over 9m views in less than a week and was picked up by multiple news outlets across the world.
Kimmel employed a stunt woman called Daphne Avalon to pretend to be 'Caitlin Keller' attempting to make a 'sexy twerk' video for her boyfriend.
Kimmel claims they didn't send the clip to any news outlets, they just "uploaded it to YouTube and let the magic happen".
The revelation began with Kimmel speaking to 'Caitlin' via Skype, who was then revealed to actually be behind a curtain on-stage.
After a segment summarising all of the American television outlets that "fell for the prank", Kimmel quipped "It's a good thing there's nothing happening in Syria right now".
